The Manager’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Department Assistant in the Assessing
\nDepartment.<\/p>\n

Under the supervision of the Assessing Director, the department assistant performs a variety of clerical and
\nadministrative tasks to support the Assessing Department\u2019s operations. This position responds to citizen
\ninquiries on the phone and at the counter, processes paperwork related to the Assessment Administration
\nfunction, maintains department files and records within the computerized database, and may perform
\nspecialized administrative tasks related to the Assessor\u2019s Office. This position requires public contact.<\/p>\n

Progressive public relations and office experience skills are required. Knowledge of and proficiency with
\ncomputers is required. Minimum one year of general office experience is required. Additional training and
\neducation acquired through a business college or a university is desired. The ability to obtain a MCAT
\n(Michigan Certified Assessment Technician) Certification from the Michigan State Tax Commission in the first
\nyear is expected.<\/p>\n
